Dr. Valery Engel is an expert on radical right movements in the former Soviet
Union, with a special interest in the comparative and motivational analysis of
European xenophobia and radicalism. He published 11 monographs and more
than 60 scientific articles. Dr. Engel is the Senior Fellow of Far-Right Analytical
Network (UK), President of the European Center for Democracy Development
in Latvia (ECDD) and member of the Global Research Network
(GRN) of the U.N. Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate
(CTED). He is also the chief editor and scientific director of the ECDD Internet
project Civic Nation (http://civic-nation.org).
